La Partenope restaurant is a very inviting Italian restaurant, the food was cooking to perfection, atmosphere is very intimate and elegant, the friendly staff will welcome you to the relaxed and comfortable environment.
We chose the special menu, pork loin on a sizzling plate with summer vegetables and King crab jelly layered with tomato coulis and avocado cream. For dessert Chestnut ice cream with aged rum sponge cake and crunchy pearls and Chestnut mousse with XO cognac ice cream and passion fruit coulis...
It's the best menu we have enjoyed in a restaurant for very long time, we will certainly return.

This is by far my favourite Italian restaurant in Edinburgh, I've here on so many different occasions. The food is outstanding and the staff attentive, friendly and extremely knowledgeable about the dishes served. Friendly chefs as well. Very home style cooking with a real emphasis on relaxed dining, great house wine, lovely little restaurant.
Also, if you are a student, you get 15% discount - just ask the staff and show your ID.
Fantastico.

Booked here on the Thursday before the Scotland England international on the Saturday and was surprised and therefore a little sceptical when I got a table so easily. When we got there the place was packed but it did not stop the staff looking after us and the kitchen staff preparing a fine meal. The menu is so varied there were at least 4 things that sounded appetising and I was spoilt for choice. In the end I went for the day's seafood special and was very well rewarded. Tuna, swordfish, bream, langoustine and prawn were all cooked to perfection. My dining colleagues had a variety of dishes and all agreed that the restaurant gave a very positive dining experience. I would highly recommend La Partenope.

We had dinner here after being let down by another restaurant - they did us a favour, the food was fantastic! We sat in leather sofas with a drink and complimentary olives while we looked through the menu. Friendly staff then sat with us and helped us with our choices and talked us through the wines. We had starters and mains so can't comment on the desserts, but nothing we had disappointed. Highlight was the baked cheese starter - hot, melted, sticky, smoked mozzarella in a sensational tomato and basil sauce. If you're uncertain over a starter but like cheese, choose this! The staff were extremely attentive without being intrusive and the whole evening was faultless. We would never have thought of Dalry Road to experience some of the best food we've ever tasted (that includes several holidays in Italy!), but next time we're in Edinburgh, we'll be back.

Great place to eat. We eat in italians often. La Partenope is the most homely feeling of them all. Rosario the head chef always allows you to chop and change over his delicious menus, which is great seeing they have so much sea-food on offer and fillet steaks, this man brings surf and turf to a whole new meaning!
Chianti Classico is one of the best priced in Edinburgh! Try it for yourself, you won't be dissapointed...

I had a family saturday lunch here a while ago and was very impressed. It is a great true italian restaurant with amazing seafood on offer - I had the seafood platter which I remember being particularly good. In typical Italian style the staff are prepared for all evantualities with children (we have 4 of different ages in our group). They were also happy to adapt a couple of things on the menu to meet our requirements. I havent been for dinner as yet but would recommend this to any Italian food fan as it is still one of the best I have been to in edinburgh

My partner and I are always on the lookout for good, consistent restaurants and we have come to the conclusion that this is the best Italian in Edinburgh. We first walked in on the off chance of a table and were welcomed warmly by the staff, this friendly atmosphere continued throughout the night. Both the food and the service were of an excellent standard and have been everytime we have returned since. Authentic Italian food at its best - especially the tiramisu!
This restaurant is highly recommended, and in my opinion an unforgettable experience!

I have eaten here several times over the last few years and generally found it good however after a recent visit I was very disappointed. I had arranged to visit on a Friday night with a party of four and after numerous requests for the "normal" menu which is on display in front of the restaurant I was told that this menu was not available at weekends - only the "Specials" one was on.
Needless to say the "Specials" menu had most items at twice the price of the normal one and I found this frustrating. In the past I have been able to mix and match from the specials and the normal one but this time I was left feeling duped. I will not be returning again.

All my friends and family love La Partenope restaurant, we love to travel, also we love to eat. This restaurant is excellent, the taste, like we eat in Italy. I had fresh mixed seafood, followed by tiramisu. Tiramisu was very nice and how it should be, not made with sponge cake and cream! The food was excellent and the staff attentive, friendly lovely owner! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone interested in an authentic Italian meal in cozy surroundings.
