Above Abbotsford, 3 Rose Street, EH2 2PR, Edinburgh

Having visited Edinburgh for the first time last weekend I have to say one of the highlights of the trip was visiting this restaurant.

Having been very rudely treated at the Doric Tavern we left and stumbled across this Restaurant and what a treat it was. A nice menu which was very reasonably priced (I had home made chicken soup of the day which was perfection, Chicken and avocado Salad with pine nuts and bacon or mains and managed to share the delicious milk and dark chocolate cheesecake with my friend) all for around £15 and couldn't fault anything at all.

The decor and layout of the restaurant was very nice and the waiter (a very pleasent Eastern European young man) was the perfect host, he was polite, attentive, happy to help and overall made us feel very welcome despite being run off his feet. He even apologised as we left for not being able to spend more time with us which was very impressive.

Overall I cannot praise this establishment enough and would reccomend it to anyone. If I get the chance to visit the wonderful and welcoming city of Edinburgh again Above Abbottsford will be one of the first (if not the first) place I will be revisiting.
