A delightful cafe. One I return to time and time again. The food is fine, not exceptional, the staff are fine, but it is the décor and ambiance that I like. They have such marvelous lights!

In summer, it's always absolutely packed with tourists (as you can imagine, being situated on Royal Mile) and I'd rather avoid going there, but after Sep, it becomes a nice and relaxing cafe.

Drinks are on quite an expensive side but their cakes are irresistible!!! I cannot go there without having their cakes.

One of the few things I don't like about this cafe is their chai tea. They have two types of chai and both of them tasted horrible. They were not chai! I wish they would learn a bit more about tea...

The staff are usually friendly and helpful. The toilet are always very clean. The deco in the cafe is carefully designed. It's not a huge cafe but the design makes it look more spacious than it actually is.

I really like this place. It's not wheelchair accessible but there are seats outside and the staff are really quick to offer assistance without being overbearing.

The food is a bit on the pricey side but if you are vegetarian or you just enjoy light, tasty food it's a good place to stop for lunch. The cakes are really really good. Drinks wise, I recommend the (I seem to remember organic) orange juice. I don't know where the oranges come from but I haven't had better since I was in Barcelona.

What boroughloch said about waiting till tourist season has died down is very true. The service gets very slow when they are busy.
