Has a good range of your standard bar food offering and prices are very reasonable. A good place to eat if you are after a quick bite.

Assembly has its good and bad points.
It is very cheap and they do a special offer from 5 - 8pm every day which offers two main courses and a bottle of wine for £16 - a bargain! You are guaranteed a cheap meal and nice food if you go here.
However, service is usually pretty bad! I have found myself waiting here for 45 minutes before I was even greeted by a staff member - however, I don't necessarily blame the staff - during the day the place is rammed with tight students who undoubtedly annoy the staff constantly asking for a 'glass of water'.
I always go for the fajitas or the thai chicken curry - they are really good. Also the chocolate brownie is very tasty.
To recap.... go to assembly when you want a cheap and tasty dinner but don't expect too much in terms of service - you only get what you pay for!

Again I find myself in agreement with mdavidson - they do very nice spicy thin crust pizza, the drinks can be had 2-for-1 and they are very friendly.
Had a pre-theatre work thing and tables can be had without waiting normally. A good spot if you're going somewhere and need some grub, equally you could sit in there all evening and banter away.
3.5 stars here would be for what you're paying for an would expect. It's not fine dining- pub grub but good pub grub.

I agree with all the previous reviews.
The food is cheap and cheerful, with good offers during the week. Again, the staff seem to care more about how they look/their image than the service they are providing. However, the food is good for what you pay, great for a mid-week meal out when you can't be arsed to cook!

Good food at a reasonable price. There's only a handful of places in Edinburgh where you can get food and decent service at these prices. Pizzas aren't great but the nachos and the chilli can't be knocked. A destination I return to again and again. Especially when I can't be bothered to cook.
