Bar Alba, 11-13 Grassmarket, EH1 2HY, Edinburgh
We went here on Saturday as I fancied going to the Grassmarket to watch the tennis and to grab some food. Five minutes after we got there a stag party of about 15 very loud men arrived dressed as women- disappointing but to be expected in the Grassmarket area I suppose.
Bar Alba is more of a drinking extablishment than a restaurant but we had some food anyway - it was average and certainly nothing to write home about. I had scrambled eggs on toast for £4 which was fine and my partner had the combo starter for £7 (nachos, tempura prawns and chicken nuggets) - most certainly frozen only ten minutes earlier.
Service, on the other hand, was very good. Very friendly waitress and barman who were eager to please.
To summarise I wouldn't really recommend for their food menu but would probably return for a drink.
