In my 7 years in Edinburgh, this is probably the restaurant I have eaten in most and has yet to let me down. Excellent food, very reasonably priced and always good service.
They often do offers on quiet nights of the week, or during quiet times in the year (January/February) and always seem to be part of the annual Times "Eat out for £5" deal so some truly excellent value dining can be found here.

I've been to Blonde a number of times but last night's visit was the first for over a year.
I had fillet of trout on a chickpea salad, partner had fillet of pollock with mussels and mash. Both were superbly cooked and presented in an interesting way.
For dessert we had a creme brulee with rhubarb (!) and Warm marmalade pudding. I thought both were excellent and my partner considered the creme brulee to be one of the finest she'd had. She had a glass of Sauvignon Blanc; I had a glass of Boise. We had coffee and the total bill was £44.60.
Absolutely 5 stars for food but 4 overall because the waiting staff were a little up themselves with the exception of the Polish girl who was perfectly lovely. The two Scots in the restaurant seemed to find themselves a little more important than was warranted.
5 stars in the kitchen - well done Andy, keep up the good work - but certainly room for improvement in the restaurant.

Never had a bad meal at this little restaurant. Always a good selection of tasty dishes well presented. Would definitely reccommend for a no frills supper.

I visited this restaurant with my daughter and adult grandchildren for an evening meal midweek. We did book beforehand which was a good thing as the restaurant was busy when we arrived at 7.30 (a good sign).
We were shown to our table straight away and the menus were already on the table. The choice of starters was excellent but we decided to forego these and order the main meal.
The choice was excellent - venison, chicken, steak, lamb shank and a good selection of vegetarian meals also. The dishes were accompanied by a good selection of vegetables both fresh and stir fried and the food was hot, which is always an excellent advantage!
We chose desserts which were again a good variety. The ever-popular banoffee pie, creme brulee and a very good poached pear with brandy baskets and ice-cream. There was also cheese. A good selection of various coffees ended the meal (unfortunately, no mints with the coffee!).
The wine list was adequate and we chose a white Pinot Grigio at about £12.
Service was good. Attentive with perhaps a slight wait for the main course.
All in all, I would certainly recommend this restaurant. Perhaps the tables were a little crowded together, but being a small restaurant this perhaps adds to the friendly atmosphere.

I first went to Blonde in my first year at uni, and have been returning ever since. The food especially the venison is really good, the black pudding with walnut salad was taken off the menu which was gutting lol. But yeah one of the best neighborhood restaurants you'll find at a price that means you can come back for more :)
