Have been here a couple of times and never had a bad meal. The menu can seem a bit limited and doesn't change much but it has all the old faithfuls on it such as burgers, steaks, some fish, chicken etc. Lovely small restaurant so always has a good atmosphere - it is a BYO restaurant so always best to book a table as I have yet to see this place quiet.

Main meals can range from about £8-£15 (£15 being the steaks). Portions are big and service is very good. For anyone looking for a local bite to eat would recommend here.

Turned up at almost 10:30pm last night. The waitress did a tremendous job of hiding her disappointment at us scuttling in just before last orders and showed us our table and did her thing in a pleasant manner.

We had some garlic bread (alright), partner had a cheeseburger, I had El Diablo which came with Jalapenos. The burgers are 8oz and served with chips and salad. Nicely pink in the middle and pretty good but I wouldn't call them the best burgers in town: I'd go to the City Caff for that or Bells Diner.

We had a glass of wine and a glass of Diet Coke and the total Bill was £26. Reasonably happy with that price but could have done with it being a bit cheaper, my burger @ £11 was overpriced.

Will I go again? Well, seeing as it resides halfway between the pub and my partner's place and that its last orders are half an hour later than everywhere else in the area, I'd say yes but I don't think I'd go out of my way.

My partner and I had two full breakfasts here on Saturday 18/10/08. It was busy and we did have to wait about 15 mins for our food but it was presented nicely and the food was good. Nothing out of the ordinary eggs, bacon, tomatoes, beans, black pudding, hash browns, toast and served with a bowl of chips!

The food definitely looked liked it was cooked to order. We also had a pot of tea for 2 which we were told we could have a free refill of should we wish. Service was good, the waiter was attentive and friendly. Bill was under £16. We would visit again.

I have eaten here on and off for years now and personally think that the food is excellent. Contrary to other opinions here the prices are extremely reasonable and well worth the money. The BYOB policy is an added bonus for only £1 corkage too. The burgers are the best I have tasted and miles better than nearby Bells Diner thats for sure!! The only issues this place does have is that it can be crammed with kids at lunchtimes. Not everyones taste. Sometimes long waiting times for the food also. You are warned though by polite staff. Lastly watch out in winter. This place can be cold!! The door goes like a saloon bar and the heating appears switched off on a constant basis. Other than that though I have never had a bad meal. Go there. Easily the best in Stockbridge.

Used to hate this place before the smoking ban, but now can appreciate it a lot more. Steaks have always been good and I have never had a bad meal here.

My son and I went in to Raeburn Place at 5.00 pm on Saturday 17th May and frankly wish we hadn't bothered. Our mistake was to presume that a window seat was free and the very pompous waiter guided us to a horrible seat beside the kitchen. We were only having a quick bite but he was adamant that the window seat was booked... strange nobody came in during the hour we spent there.

The food was passable, but the waiters seemed to find it very amusing that they had not allowed us to sit where we wanted - pretty unprofessional I thought. They need to grow up a bit and think about their customers!

Would I go back - NEVER! My card was refused twice but strangely when I left restaurant it worked perfectly well...
