Cozi Bar and Grill, 44 St. Stephen St, EH3 5AL, Edinburgh

Totally agree with craig777's review, but am willing to give it an extra half star.

We went here for lunch today (a Sunday) and both had their Sunday roast for a very reasonable £6.50. The stuff were very friendly, the roast was excellent (especially considering the price) with great homemade Yorkshires and it was served up quickly.

We sat at a comfy leather sofa by the fire. It's a living flame gas fire, not a proper fire like I'd like to see in a bar called "Cozi", but it's certainly better than nothing. I guess ridiculous health and safety laws mean it's near impossible to have proper fires in bars these days. Oh well.

We also thought that the whole place could have been a bit warmer in general. The main door to the bar seemed to be letting in a bit of a draft and they could have ramped up the gas fire a bit to increase the coziness of the place. But overall, we were very impressed and may well be back for weekend lunches - better food, value and service than you'll find on George Street, we thought.

This place has a great mixture of food on the menu from traditional banger and mash to stuffed peppers. Brilliant venue in the winter as the fire is on and the place really is very cozi! Sofas and soft leather seats to chill out on for a Sunday lunch as well as other tables available. Everything is very reasonably priced with main meals ranging from £6-10 with sizable portions.
