I visited with 3 friends on a Sunday afternoon. I did not eat (as I did not realise that meeting at 2pm on a Sunday was for lunch so I had already eaten) but my companions did.
What they had looked good and they pretty much gobbled up all of their food so I didn't get to try any of it, despite me circling like a vulture. It seemed good value too, especially the fish and chips, which was £6 for a massive plateful.
I will probably go back there in order to try the food properly, although only during the day as at night it attracts a bit of a crowd.

I ate here twice last week and completely agree with the previous 2 reviews so I am also going to give Grand Cru a 3.5 out of 5.
I think it was refurbished about 10 months ago now and it was definitely worth it. Nice intimate booths and decor but a little on the dark side... fine for in the evening but not such a great atmosphere for your lunch.
Food and service were fine. First time round I had thai beef noodles and my Mum had chicken caeser salad - both were good and with 2 coffees and a couple drinks the bill came to just shy of £20. Second time round, I had duck spring rolls and my dining partner had burger and fries (I think) - again, correctly sized portion and good quality food. Pretty reasonable when the bill came too. Finally, couldn't fault the service - both friendly and efficient.

Had Sunday Brunch here this weekend. 4 of us went in - very comfy chair it must be said. Bright and friendly service.
I'd been meaning to try food in here for a while as I pass it every day and have eaten in most of the nearby places. We ordered club sandwiches, fish and chips (£7) and shephards pie.
The club sandwiches were fine but they did themselves a bit of a diservice as the plate was far too big and made it look like they should have given more chips/salad (the greenery was particularly feeble looking).
The shephards pie was plentiful but quite salty. Didn't finish it. Overall I'd go back again and try other parts of the menu. The consensus was it was fine and no major comment was made one way or the other. Both club sandwiches and fish and chips were polished off nicely. They were also a bit stingy with ketchup (possibly a credit crunch issue).
Good daytime spot. If I'd had more time I would have gone to 99 Hanover St but we were in a bit of a rush and Grand Cru delivered.

Came here with a bunch of friends this week and found this place to be good. The service was quick and the staff were really helpful and hospitable. The food was as expected in a place like this and the price was also reasonable. One thing to note is that if you sit towards the back, there is not much lighting.
