First I need to say that my unusually gracious rating of 4.5 stars relates to the restaurants lack of a liquor license, a BYOB policy and NO corking fee. Without this however, Hanams would have still scored 4 stars. Great honest food at (for once!) honest prices makes Hanams a great choice when you are in the area.
I had their mixed Kurdish style kebab which came with a mix of chicken, ground lamb, and cubed lamb kebabs served on the metal skewers they were cooked on over a thin pita/nan bread with salad. It came with two dipping sauces, one yogurt the other a bit sweet and sour. Both very tasty and a pleasant change to what you get at your normal takeaway with that awful honey mustard type dressing. My partner had the chicken biriani with one of the veggie dishes to serve over. The biriani was the best i have ever had! It was delightfully spiced and there were definately flavours in there that I had never or only rarely tasted. A lovely dish.
We didnt stay for pudding as we had tickets for a movie but next time it will be a must as I have a feeling their version of baklava will be very good indeed.
The staff are very friendly are and happy to answer questions about any of the dishes available. Strongly recommended and also recommended to stop into the off-license across the street for a bottle of wine before - remember no corking fee!

This is a lovely little restaurant by Tollcross. I had a Tashreeb which is a dish of Lamb with a vegetable sauce on a bed of naan. Apparently it is what most of the customers have I can see why, it was a really interesting and tasty dish. I will definitely be returning here as it was superb value I am keen to try some of the other dishes on the menu.
The website is well worth a look as it reflects the friendliness of the restaurant.

Nice little local restaurant with friendly atmosphere and service.
We had a selection of mixed starters for 2 for £12 and a main to share for £9.
Both the starters and main, a tashreeb were tasty and quite filling.
We brought our own bottle of wine and we did not had to pay a fee. BYOB is free!
Tastier and healthier alternative than a burger, kebab or fish and chips take away!
A must go!

Hanams was recommended to me by a friend when I was frantically trying to book for a party of 15 that weekend. And I'm so glad he did!
The food at Hanams is good, hearty Kurdish fare - the kebabs are tender and the tashreebs were a winner with many of our party. The staff at this family run restaurant didn't seem fazed at all by having to cook for our rowdy rabble and were friendly and accommodating. As others have said, Hanams is BYOB and they don't charge corkage, which is great for your budget.
After the weekend I e-mailed the restaurant to thank them for their fantastic service and got a lovely e-mail back from our waitress on the night. :)
Hanams certainly get top marks for customer service - on another occasion we happened to accidentally drop in on Kurdish New Year and were greeted with balloons and streamers as the family themselves ate at the next table!
