We first tried this restaurant by getting a takeaway. Unfortunately one of the burgers came as a plain burger without the promised toppings, sauce etc. Takeaways are useful for us when we don't have a dog sitter available. As we had made our own chips etc. and were starving, the burger was doctored and eaten. I telephoned to make them aware of the issue, and they could not have been more apologetic, helpful and concerned.
Anyway we went back to try the restaurant, and we cannot speak highly enough about the level of service we received. Matthew, who had dealt with our original complaint, had finished his shift, but came over to make sure that everything was okay with our meal, giving up his own time to ensure our experience was first class. I'm sure that he even went back into the kitchen just to check our order for himself. Everyone else we encountered could not have been friendlier. Having just checked out some reviews on this site, this isn't what people are experiencing in other restaurants.
The food, as the name suggests is burgers. We had the hot chilli burger, and the blue cheese and bacon burger. Burgers are good quality and tasty. The blue cheese topping was delicous, whilst the hot chilli could have been hotter for our taste but was very pleasant. You order sides. We went for a portion of onion rings and hand cut chips. The chips were just like old fashioned home made chips; delicious. The onion rings were also very tasty. Two large glasses of red wine went well with the food.
Getting a seat in one of the booths at the side of the restaurant gave us privacy, but also a great view of everything going on.
They do 2 for 1 offers on the burgers, which brought our bill down to about £22 including wine.
Can't praise the service enough and the food is very good if you fancy a burger. We certainly enjoyed our visit.
