Expensive but oh so yummy.
The stilton and apple sandwich is THE best!!! Soups are always varied and exciting and the bread is fresh.
They also supply Tyrells crisps, yum yum.
The millionaire shortbread is the best in Edinburgh. I love Herbies, they are quite expensive though.
Probably the best sandwich shop in the West End.

Top quality sarnie shop in a super convenient location. My fave lunch time stop-off point close to my office. The quality of the bread and rolls they use in Herbies FAR FAR excedes my expectations of what you typically get in a sarnie shop. As well as the bread being delicious the fillings that go in them are always fresh and of a very high quality. A good one (my favourite) is the chicken (not reconstituted!), pesto and cranberry. Stilton and Apple is super (all the cheese is decent stuff) and the chicken liver pate is supreme. I don't think the sarnies are too overpriced - maybe a premium of 20p or so but defo worth it.
It is quite expensive for things like soup and salads though. Millionaires shortbread is the best i've ever had and the service is good too.
Overall highly recommended even if you just want a loaf of bread for breakfast!
yum yum.
