Typical British Chinese fare. Neither good nor bad only what is expected. Had their meal deal in the restaurant, soup, prawn crackers, and we shared beef with peppers and black bean sauce and a stir fried chicken dish. I don't recall what the sauce was as it was one of those bland light brown ones that seem ubiquitous in all Chinese restaurants in Edinburgh.
The decor was a tad kooky, I could have actually been happier with some more kookiness. They have hung on the wall a flat screen TV that shows the insides of a fish tank. Also had a water fountain inside which was peculiarly covered in plastic wrap. I am assuming that this is not always the case, but who knows.
Banana fritters for dessert. Mediocre, but at least they were fresh from the fryer not the gummy stuff you would get at a buffet or takeaway.

As a vegetarian, I cannot speak particularly for the meatier dishes that the I-Ching provides. Save to say that my boyfriend thinks they are "pretty good".
The vegetarian selection is, however, quite in a league of its own. There are roughly 6-7 different vegetarian starters, and a generous selection of main courses also. These dishes are not merely vegetables swimming in sweet and sour sauce either! The I-Ching serves delicious beancurd, strangely a rarity in chinese takeaways in Scotland. It is provided in various delicious sauces also, my favourite being the "Salt and Chilli Tofu".
The other reviewer here is probably correct in citing the I-Ching's numerous meat dishes as a little mediocre, but as a provider of Vegetarian Fare I find them unsurpassed. And most importantly, at a great value price.
