Had a quick business lunch here yesterday. I had a chicken curry, can't remember what it was called. I'm no connoisseur of Indian food, but I'm pretty confident that this was above average! The staff were really friendly. If I lived in Dalkeith, I'd definitely go back and try them in the evening. Actually, it might well be worth the trip out from Edinburgh for.

Ordered meal for takeaway, took too long to be made, waited an unusual length of time after an apparent 1945 pick up, curry was not as before, quite watery and sauce thin, rice tastless, if being busy provides this service, I may change where I go?
Looking for an improvement!

This was the 1st time I have visited this resturant, let me say the service was 1st class as was the food. My full time job is a food critic for goodfood.co.uk I'll be back having eaten in well over 30 Indians in Edinburgh Itihaas comes out top for what I had, I talked with the boss Mr Khan - nice guy all I can say is keep what you have going & you will be number 1. Happy eating anyone who goes am sure you will enjoy.

I've had a most wonderful time in this gem of a restaurant the food is delicious, good quality ingredients, and a wonderful blend of tastes. You have to wade through a weighty impressive menu I was spoilt for choice.
I do enjoy and appreciate good food that is well cooked and presented well.
The staff are great and attentive nothing is to much trouble for them.
Itihaas is clearly intended to look opulent and rather stylish they are clearly aiming high this is what Dalkeith has needed for a long time! I wish Matin and his team all the very best!!!

Nice looking premises, light and staff attentive and smart.
Ordered a takeaway on busy Saturday night. Firstly a mix up with orders lucky I noticed as I was walking out the door.
Got home and took lids off all we found was two watery very very oily meals. The rice was fine as was the naan bread.
Both curries were bland and after pouring out a cupful of oil both meals ended up in the bin. I could not get through on phone as it was busy so I have yet to let them know my findings. I will not be returning ...

It would be even better if there was an online menu to see for those of us that live quite a distance away and want to order a take away to collect.
