Was sorely disappointed with this place - just as expensive as any Chinese and the food was less than desirable. Spring rolls didn't taste of much and tofu was horrible, ended up eating half of the Mrs' dish. Reminded me more of a deep-fry chippy in Glasgow than a good Chinese, there's better ones down in Morningside.

Shockingly bad. Burnt noodles in a gloopy, old sauce and chicken that seemed to have been deep fried last week.

We were ordering at least once a month from here, nothing special and delivered suspiciosly quick (microwave time?). Got screwed over as for £15 you get free bbq wings. Ours came to £15.70 with delivery but even after arguing the toss it turns out we are fools without wings. I will be sure to spend my idiot money somewhere else in future. Sorry Jimmy's...

Makes the best King Prawn and Green Pepper with Fried Rice ever! - it is so good that I never try anything else. Always done to perfection... very nice staff too.

This is the first time I have tried this Chinese takeaway, and as it is just around the corner from my home, I just went round. The food was ready in about 3 mins (Microwave?!). Anyway, the chicken fried rice was disgusting. Is it meant to taste burnt? And also, I thought fried rice recipes had peas, onions and oyster sauce... well, there was no veg, just rice and a few strips of chicken and an overall burnt taste! My hubby had chicken and green peppers with black bean sauce... chicken was a terrible texture and the sauce was not too bad, but nothing special at all! Being the same price as any other Chinese we have tried, the food definitely did not live up to the expense! Will never be back here! YUK!

I had barbecued spare ribs in Peking sauce, but the sauce was so watery, it was an irrelevant addition to the dish.

The chicken fried rice was poor - basically just a wedge of fried rice (with no veg), with a layer of reconstituted chicken strips on top.

Behind the counter someone was playing video games and shouting "F**k f**k f**k" at the top of their voice.

I was not impressed and will not be back.

The crispy duck is yummy. I don't like anything else from here though.

Honestly... can't complain, not tripping the light fantastic by any means but fills a hole for reasonable money. Very fast delivery.

I don't see what everyone's upset about! The meal deal is great value and chicken balls are great!

Fair enough I haven't tried some of the other stuff, but of the bruntsfeild area after a long day at uni, it's pretty good!

I ordered a plain chicken and sweetcorn meal and it arrived extremely quickly. It didn't taste anything special but there was a hint of something I wasn't sure of. We were hungry so ate it, but have spent the whole night plus all of today doubled up in pain and running to the loo. I stopped going to this takeaway years back for the same reason but had forgotten. I will not be going back. Stick to the Pine Garden in Morningside Road, they are fantastic but were shut last night!

Really wish I had checked reviews before I ordered from here... This place is BAD! None of the dishes we had tasted fresh (suspiciously short preparation time!), and everything had a nasty taste of old, burnt oil about it. We felt like we were eating stuff from a bad chippy rather than a Chinese take-away, as there were no discernible 'Chinese' flavours, it all just tasted of oil and not much else.

I had specifically ordered a particular aubergine dish as the menu had suggested this came in a sauce rather than 'dry'... It turned out to be just chunks of aubergine that had been battered and deep fried with a few slices of soggy pepper and onion... Swimming in grease, no flavour, a major disappointment.

Would NEVER go here again, and unless you like your Chinese food reheated, tasteless and super oily, I would suggest you avoid also!

We've tried a few of the Chinese takeaways around here (although not all!) and have settled on this as our favourite so far. Good tasty food, recommend the minced pork with aubergine.
