You could be in Paris with the wonderful decor of this hidden-away little gem. Whenever I come home to Edinburgh I take folk here - and they're always impressed! You'll need to book at weekends though and definitely during the Festival.

We went here a couple of months ago for our anniversary dinner and it was a very disappointing experience, after the previous time we had visited a year or so ago. The waitress was surly and didn't show us to our table, just pointed in the general direction after leaving us standing in the middle of room before they decided we were worth their attention.
We then sat drinkless at our table for ages and had to grab their attention to serve us a drink whilst we read the menu.
Starters were good, my vension main was overdone after asking for it rare. After our deserts we were completely forgotten about, and again had to chase down the staff for service, and to pay the bill.
I would not rush back and was very let down after having such a lovely meal there previously.
