Thai fusion. What exactly is fusion cooking? That is just what I asked myself before I went to this delightful restaurant. It appears to be a blend of Thai food and British food.

I went to this two week old restaurant last night with my father and girlfriend and had a lovely time. For my main course I had Gressingham Duck. This came in a very nouveau cuisine style with a cube of rice in the middle of a square plate, slices of exquisitely cooked duck with thai Red and Green sauces on opposite corners of the plate, a few chips at a third corner and something that I'm afraid I forget at the last corner. The combination was excellent and highy recommended.

For dessert I had creme brulee on a taro base. For those of you who are unaware (this included me until last night) taro is a root vegetable, akin to carrots and parsnips. For those of you who like to have to destroy the surface of the creme brulee with a pick axe, this is not the pudd for you. But for me, it was delicious. Another recommended dish.

As for the decor - spartan, grey/black, ultra modern - very nice. And the staff were on great form, just the right mix of civility, warmth and attentiveness.

Would I recommend this place? Abosolutely - for either a date or a family meal out, but probably not for toddlers!

An interesting experience - small expensive helpings but food was a strange set of tastes - ok for a single visit but won't be going back.

We have been twice and will be going again. The staff are very attentive and welcoming. The surroundings are clean, modern and funky, for an old codger like me, and the food that I have eaten has been very good indeed. I love the small complimentary taster you get with your drink as you wait for the first course. All restaurants should do that, it's especially pleasing to the Scottish mentality, something for nothing.

The Thai mushroom soup with scallops is wonderful. Great tastes and completely satisfying. We found it excellent value for money with very reasonable, but good, choice of wine. A really good dining experience for £24.

I will definitely be going back. We had an absolutely delicious meal, in fantastic surroundings. The staff were so helpful and attentive, they should be proud of their service.

I had a curried lamb with mash, it was one of the nicest meals I've had in a really long time, the presentation of all the food is superb.

Lovely staff. Modern, fresh decor. Good wine choice. Very well presented food. Good quality of meat, fish etc and food tasted very fresh.

I can see what 'thai fusion' is trying to achieve. It almost works but not quite. The lamb, lovely and tender in a samosa-type shell with a curried/nut sauce was very different but served with mash potato was a strange mix of flavours and textures.

I think this restaurant is somewhere to be tried as it is a different dining experience but I wouldn't rush back for a second time unless the menu/combinations were slightly amended.

We will definitely be back. Truly fantastic experience.

The staff were very helpful and attantive. Food was truly delicious and perfect portion size. There was a good atmosphere and the surroundings are beautiful. The wine list was extensive and whilst I did not try the cocktails they looked very good. I will be back soon to sample.

I stumbled across this place totally by mistake and freakin' loved it. For a change we went into a new place to eat and tried out new foods instead of going with the usual boring and safe food and it totally payed off. Defo planning to book a table and get back there, staff couldn't be more helpful and nice, food is delish... sure their cocktails would've been nice as well but didn't have any... Douglas you must be mad if you didn't like this place!!!

A truly wonderful experience and definitely planning a return. Aromatic Thai flavours that dance on your tastebuds. We were warmly welcomed followed by an attentive service of great care. I started with a Thai vegetable salad that was fresh, crunchy and very flavoursome. Followed by a tender sea bass on a bed of mashed vegetables with Thai infusions. All this for only £9 on the set lunch menu! I had to try the creme brûlée with a sweet Thai vegetable that was heavenly. I would recommend this place for amazing surroundings, food, service and price. Byob option too!

Excellent in all respects - creative presentation, faultless service, price and ambience.

Only complaint - miserly portions. Left hungry!

I was dubious about going for Thai fusion but my mind was soon changed. The delicately spiced food was lovely and my concerns were soon washed away. I plan to return soon and would recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Have been to Leven’s twice now and will be there again this week. Would definitely recommend this - especially if you fancy something a little different or if you haven’t had Thai before. Staff are warm, friendly and very attentive.

After exhausting most restaurants in Edinburgh we were delighted to find Leven’s.

This restaurant has it all, great food - the taste and presentation are excellent, the service is the best, I remember having our bottle of water topped up 3 times (my wife is pregnant). The menu choice is different which I love, the place itself is very modern and fresh looking. We visit at least once a week. I recommend lunch or pre-theatre as it is cheaper and the quality or portion size does not suffer.

I went with my wife a couple of weeks ago, and had a really nice meal in there. The food was tasty, the place looked nice and spotlessly clean. The waiting staff were super friendly too! The only gripe I have is that they were a bit too attentive, filling our drinks up too often. Overall though, a good place to eat.

I visited on Saturday and ate from the pre-theatre menu (2 coures for £12). The venue was lovely, the food was excellent, nicely presented and the staff provided a great service.

I will definitely be going back.
