The menu is pretty much a generic bar/pub one with nothing too exciting on it, just the usual burgers, fish and chips, scampi, etc. The service was friendly and quick (I ate there on a Tuesday so it was quiet) and the food was decent but unmemorable. If you are nearby and want some grub it is worth a look but I would not recommend that you go out of your way to eat here.

This place does pub food reasonably well nothing inspiring but edible! There is a strange clash of styles with burgers and fish and chips being served on Nouveau Cuisine crockery with each chip arranged geometrically. The service is fine and the surroundings clean and crisp.
Nothing spectacular but a step up from your usual pub grub at a similar price.

An old favorite of mine that I rediscovered recently - and I was massively impressed with the difference!
It used to be the sort of place that did 'happy hours' a few years ago and that was the sole reason my friends and I went there so often. Having grown up a bit now and being in the area I decided to take my girlfriend there for a quick drink and ended up staying most of the night! The staff were some of the most knowledgeable and personable I've ever encountered in ten years of going out in Edinburgh. I mean, no request was unanswered and as for the drinks (and being a beer drinker) I had my eyes opened to how tasty a well made cocktail can be, wouldn't drink them everyday but if I did I'd do it in Monboddo!
Going back there this weekend!
