Another favourite of mine. I tend to bring my friends there (though obviously they just want to ogle at the continental waitresses with gorgeous accents), but I digress...
Food, like the other Grassmarket establishment, is divine. Every time I've been to either of the Petit Paris establishments, it's never disappointed. Sure, the little-francois decorative tat may seem as unusual as say, going to an irish-themed pub in Shanghai, but hey the food tastes like a little old granny's hidden under the kitchen table (and believe me, it's a small kitchen).
It's worth the wait though, just sit down and order, the food will take its time to be served to you, but when it's served it's like manna from heaven. Home-cooked, on hot plates, with simple mouth-watering ingredients. Unpretentious, and value for money (No £15 quid for a microwave steak you can cook yourself at home here).
Try the fish. The toulouse sausages. The t'art chocolat with creme anglais. Best creme brulee out of Paris (and the creme brulee in paris is pretty merde if you ask me). I'll be seeing you here too.

Magnifique! I had just been to the French Institute for a lecture and happened upon this place, having previously been impressed with the Grassmarket version I duly went in. It was every bit as nice as the GM one. Lovely food, good decor, nice views, friendly staff. Everything a good restaurant should have.

yum yum yum
Went to le Petit Paris for a 'girls' work lunch and it was fantastique! The staff were great and the ambiance was lovely.
The specials on the menu were varied and tres french.
The Kir was scrummy and the service superb.
Really really enjoyed this meal. I haven't been to the one in the Grassmarket before but have heard nothing but good things about it.
Would seriously recommend le Petit Paris - top notch!

Petit Paris in Queensferry Street is in a charming setting. There's a wonderful bright, airy ambience. The quality of the food was very high indeed (and the gorgeous cured ham starter was gigantic!). A couple of minor hiccups in service, though - forgetting to bring one of our party of twelve her aperitif, and later, bringing coffee but forgetting to bring milk. However, all things considered, I would definitely go back again, and would recommend it to others.
