I went to The Stockbridge restaurant with a group of friends on Friday night.
The food was absolutely fantastic. I thought everything was going to be very expensive but they had a set menu available 3 courses for £22 (or something very similar) which I opted for. The a la carte menu is quite a bit more expensive.
We were given a scrummy canapé to start with which was beautifully presented, I then had a rabbit carbonara followed by beefcake this was served with a gorgeous warm feta and beetroot salad (this was actually my favourite part of the meal). Before pudding we were given a fantastic passion fruit sorbet and then I had a pear and nut crumble. The food really was sumptuous!
My only negative was the service and to some extent the atmosphere. The atmosphere was pretty rigid, if you can describe an atmosphere as that and I dont think a restaurant should ever be like that! When we first arrived, there was only a table for 2 in and we were seated at the table next to them, the music was barely audiable so they could hear our converstaion and us vice versa. Anyway, the big downer on the night was at the end of the evening our bill for 5 people 4x bottles of wine, 5x 3 courses was £185, which was suprisingly reasonable! However, we paid this before we had finished the wine and we had about ½ bottle left on the table and the waiter asked us if he could get us our coats which we felt was VERY rude. It was only 10:30 and the restaurant was still pretty full so the polite thing to do would have been to leave us to finish our wine. We were all pretty taken aback by this.
If the service had been as good as the food this would have been an easy 5*s. Still worth checking out and I would recommend that you book!

Yet another faultless meal at this restaurant. The food was outstanding and the service very attentive but never obtrusive. This is the perfect place for a quite leisurely meal in superb surroundings.
