Susie's Wholefood Diner, 51-53 West Nicolson Street, EH8 9DB, Edinburgh

The feel of this place is nice, lots of people coming and going, sitting together to eat, it felt like there was a nice community spirit about it however I can't help but feel that it makes its money from the feel of the place as opposed to the food offering. Quality was nothing short of ok, I certainly wouldn't choose it over anything else I have had in town, or stuff I could cook myself, in fact given the choice I would much rather visit one of the many food shops in the vicinity and knock myself up a sandwich for a couple of quid than spend 3 times that on something that tastes little better. Myself I had the Falafel plate which consisted of 2 salads of my choosing- one of which was a grated carrot offering and the other a bog standard pasta salad. Accompanied by a paltry 3 Falafel which again were ok but hardly packed a punch in terms of flavour. Accompanying humous good but could have been more garlicky, Tzatziki pretty horrible. Value was good at £7 for a decent sized portion meal but I can't say it was utterly astounding.

Probably a good place to go if you buy into what the place clearly believes in but not somewhere to go in search of great food.
