Sygn is over-priced and full of pretentious men in suits. It is one of my least favourite bars in Edinburgh.
I ate here once but paid extortinate prices for ordinary food so, in my opinion, it is best avoided.
If you want to eat in this area I would suggest Pizza Express round the corner. Alternatively, you could always go to neighbouring Indigo Yard; also expensive but ten times better for both atmosphere and food.

Sygn is a bar I go to quite regularly, either with a work crowd or with groups of friends. Thursday nights are particularly good as they have a jazz singer with a live pianist.
The cocktail waiters are second to none in Edinburgh, very inventive and helpful. You get free bar snacks too with are scrummy (last time we had amazing olives and honey glazed sweet potato crisps...mmmm... delicious) I haven't ever eaten in Sygn, apart from buying bar snacks - which were amazing - but I am told it is excellent. I have always found the staff friendly and very helpful.
I really like Sygn and much prefer it to their neighbour 'IY' which I find to be full of the pretentious suit crowd. Sygn is stylish and personal and I would thoroughly recommend it!
