Out of all the restaurants and high class places you can eat at in Edinburgh I would recommend this place 100% it's absolutely fantastic.

The potatoes are massive, and they have the biggest selection of Vegan and Vegetarian fillings I have ever seen. It will keep you filled up for hours.

The staff are very friendly, and although there are only 2 seats (which is probably the thing I would personally see as the only downside to this place) The walls are full of gig and exhibition posters for you to browse whilst you eat, and it's a great place to go during festival as you can take out and go sit on Princes Street Gardens on the grass.

I recommend the curried filling - it's delicious.

I came to Edinburgh as a student 10 years ago, and very quickly came to love this place. It is unashamedly vegetarian and what variety! I love the cheese/onion/pineapple combo (having never come across it before) and there are plenty of other fillings to keep everyone happy.

As another reviewer has said, there's only a tiny seating area, but it's really a takeaway (reflected by the fact there's no customer loos!) and I've always been able to get a seat when I wanted.

Final word must go to the staff - the owner is a legend and there's a series of interesting characters employed to fill the customers up with great tasty potatoes/salads.

If you're looking for a filling, well priced lunch, I think the Baked Potato Shop is well worth a shout.
