I decided to get an Indian takeaway for this Sunday, and the nearest and most trusted one around (so says the Platinum Blonde) was Hill Station, a rather unassuming takeaway on Comiston Road.
We had the chicken jalfrezi and lamb rogan josh with pilau rice (we supplied our own bhajis, pakoras and peshwari naan). 5.50 for curries, and all in all I paid a reasonable 14 quid. Was it good?
You bet your bottom ruppee it were good. The curries were delicious and flavoursome (not an anonymous all-in-one sauce with radioactive colourings) while being authentically hot and spicy. Not too salty, was just right. Food didn't take too long too (45 minutes, which we expected and ordered early in advance so it reached us when we needed it)
On a lazy Sunday night reclining back to watch some rubbish telly, this takeaway should curry your favour. Not a stellar 4 or perfect 5 (as of time of writing, Hill Station being the 'highest rated' per 4 review), but definitely a solid 3.5 out of 5.

Just moved to this area and was worried there would be no good takeaways! I was wrong, just had a fantastic meal at a very reasonable price.

It's a fairly dull looking run of the mill take away from outside appearances, but the food and service is 2nd 2 none and I've tried all the Indian Restaurants in Edinburgh and in Glasgow and this has to be the best for consistently top notch food.
It only misses out on a perfect 5 because I sometimes feel the amount of Chicken Tikka in their "Special Curry's" is a little sparce, but then I am a big greedy guy.

Come from London and thought that I wouldn't find a better Indian than a number of chosen ones in the east end. I was VERY wrong. I've ordered from about 10 in Edinburgh, and this is the best one by far. Good homecooked food; no one sauce that does all dishes here! Very well priced and always delivered on time.
Prawn Pathia starter is a must. In fact, any dish on the menu is a must.

Supreme!
Never find anything so good, especially their Lamb Dhansak. I was lived around the corner as well so it was bad for my diet but I still cannot resist weekly treat. Well done!

This is a great takeaway highly recomended. Fair price and fast delivery. Tandoori king prawns and chicken jalfrezi are my favourite.
