This is the best chippy I've ever had the pleasure of eating at. The fact that the fish is cooked only when you order ensures you are getting something that is fresh and has not sat around for any period of time.

I've had the plaice and the scampi and both were delicious. There are also more adventurous fish to be had if you so wish. The place is always busy which must mean there doing something right.

If you want to immediately get your food this is not the place for you, a 5-10 minute wait can be required whilst they cook your fish.

This is one of the few chippies in Edinburgh I could recommend eating at.

Having heard wonderful things about the Tailend, but never managing to get there to sit in, we decided to see if the quality of the fish coped with a takeaway. I ventured up to the takeaway for four battered haddock, three suppers and a single.

The fish is fried to order, but this was explained when I ordered. This means a five to ten minute wait, but is is well worth it as you aren't getting food that has been kept warm.

A quick drive back to an already set table, resulted in us sitting down to still piping hot, delicious, crispy battered fish, that just melted in your mouth. It was white, succulent, cooked to perfection and not a single bone. We can't remember getting anything better in a restaurant. The chips were also really well cooked. Nothing like fish, chips, salt and sauce eaten with your fingers. Eating in your own home, means that you can also have a chip piece!

Our suggestion is to only get sauce on the chips as we found that this left the fish crispy.

We would thoroughly recommend that you try this restaurant, either takeaway as we did, or sit in as it would probably be even nicer. Six pound for a supper is money well spent.

Found the fish and chip meal tasted like it was just reheated, found batter soggy, the service terrible and manager treating his staff like dirt do not recommend.

Will not be back again.
