I have been here a couple of times recently and have to say I am impressed. I did avoid it for a while but they have some great offers on just now (buy 1 get 1 free, a burger a soda and fries for £5.95, 25% off your full bill) so have been a few times to take advantage. I had the Camembert chicken burger but decided to pay the extra £1.50 for salad instead of the bun. Their chicken is all free range and although now they have started charging for their salad options they have increased the ingredients in the salads so it is good for a healthier option. Their fries are very good and I have sometimes gone for onion rings as well - however these mostly have been overly greasy and quite soggy so wouldnt really recommend.

As this restaurant is BYO is is a great option for a cheap meal - I went the other week so for 3 of us we had burgers, fries, one portion of onion rings, 3 sodas and a BYO bottle of wine it was less than £10 a head.

I think the only thing that lets this place down is that the staff arent the best. They can be friendly but they arent very attentitive and can appear quite slack.

I still think that that the best burgers in town are at the Camberidge Bar but this isnt too far away.

I was slightly disappointed with Wannaburger, while they offer a reasonable selection of burgers I was not particularly excited by any of the combos. Perhaps this is my fault for not liking cheese as this rules out about 75% of the options. Also, I was not impressed with fries being an extra side. On the plus side, they serve Innis and Gunn Ale - I recommend you try it.

I was disappointed with the chilli burger I was served. The bun was dry and fell apart when I tried to pick it up and the burger itself was also a bit dry and overcooked. The chilli sauce was present but not particularly hot or tasty. However, the guys I was dining all thought their food was great.

My advice? If you wanna burger then go to the Cambridge Bar or Bells Diner where you will find better burgers and more atmoshpere.

My boyfriend and I went to Wannaburger last Thursday evening and we weren’t overly impressed. We arrived after 8:30 which is definitely past their peak hours as they had a lot of staff milling around, cleaning the tables, topping up the sauces, polishing cutlery – basically preparing for the next day’s business... There wasn’t many punters in and the atmosphere was lacking.

My partner opted for a BBQ burger which came as a beef burger with cheese and bacon. Apparently it was tasty – tough to eat because it was so big though! I went for the chicken breast burger with camembert and cranberry sauce – again impossible to eat as no one would have a big enough mouth to slot around it!!! Unfortunately the chicken was a bit on the tough side. We both had chips and opted to share a portion of onion rings. The chips were good but the onion rings were dripping in SO much oil there was a puddle left in the bowl they were served in. GROSS.

Luckily we had a voucher that they have on their website: £6 for any burger and fries and soda. If we had been paying full price (which would realistically been a tenner/ person) then I would have been seriously disappointed.

Was looking for some cheap eats in town before seeing a fringe show with my wife. A number of restaurants in Edinburgh have 'special' promotions on their food. I do wonder how we will all feel when these 'special' promotions disappear and we are faced with a large increase in our restaurant bills for the same fare.

Anyway, my criterion was that it needed to be quite a fast meal in a casual environment at minimal cost. Well, Wannaburger fit that criteria exactly. Their website had a voucher that could be downloaded which meant that for £5.95 you got a burger, a soda and fries.

My wife had arrived before me and had chosen a booth to sit in. These booths seem to add the feeling of giving a little bit of privacy so I do like them though I must hasten to add no hanky panky was taking place within the privacy of ours !

As instructed on the voucher, that required our names and email addresses, we presented the vouchers to the server before ordering; he did not take them from us but just noted the price he was to charge. I went for the blue burger and my wife had the chilli burger. Both burgers were large and filling. My blue burger was tasty and not overpowering with the amount of blue cheese flavours. Unlike one I have had at GBK. The meat was dry and overcooked. The meat should have flavours and juices oozing out of it. It should not be a tasteless slab of brown substance. My wife was disappointed with the chilli sauce that had been liberally applied to her burger - she had assumed that chilli meant that it would be a spicy burger as opposed to a burger with a chilli sauce added to it ( her own fault for not reading the description). The fries were crinkly cut and tasted like the oven fries I make at home. Perhaps not the best but I would rather have these than some dripping with grease fries.

The BYOB for wine is £2 which is very reasonable.

Service was friendly though during our wait for our food another server asked us if we had ordered food yet. No big deal. The voucher I had brought were never collected.

Ok my conclusion. For the price paid what we got was indeed a good deal. Was it exceptional, of course not. For this price it would be silly to expect anything else. If they can improve the fries and give us a juicy slab of meat in our bun I would pay more for their burgers and would return more often.

Went in recently with my wife and friends for a quick bite. The food was pretty good, I had an excellent bacon cheese burger, my wife a haloumi burger (unusual but tasty vegetarian option for a burger shop), the sides of fries and onion rings were really tasty and I loved the banana shake I ordered, though my friend's chocolate shake was far too sweet for him and his girlfriend to finish.

The decor was pretty cool too, the booths are nice, the other tables are also good. The menu has plenty of options too.

However, the price was a bit steep. It worked out to be £4-6 a burger, £2-3 for starters and soft drinks were about £1.80 for cola type drinks but up to £3 for shakes. All in all, about £40 or so for 4 of us. Granted, the food was good, but for that price I wanted a bit more info on the produce, was it local beef? Were the vegetables organic? Were the buns from a local baker? Maybe I completely missed the info if it was there, but if it was all free range/organic it could be worth the price...at a stretch. Really swithered between 3.5 and 4 stars, was thinking the former, but I will definitely go back to eat so went for a 4.

Poor show, aside from being charged £7.00 for a burger that I could have made at home I have to pay for chips on the side (I'm sure there's a rule somewhere that states burger always served with chips...) and then the staff start clearing up and sweeping around me while I'm still eating my lunch. Not impresssed.

Wow! This place should come with a warning- CR*P! Why isn't anyone spreading the news...? This place was heaving, full of idiots like myself paying stupid amounts of money for a burger, then chips, then whatever other side you may fancy and it was all awful! The half a star is simply for the food because the service was really very good, but I can't justify paying £7 upwards for a burger and have it be for a good service experience. AWFUL, AWFUL, AWFUL, don't do it! If you want to throw some money away give it to charity and go hungry for a day! You'll thank me.

A little bit on the pricey side, but their burgers are pretty big and tasty. Their menu is focussed on burgers as you'd expect and they have some tasty combos. The milkshakes are good and staff are friendly. Been there a few times and would go again.

Dropped in early one day and had a rather pleasant breakfast burger - and impressive tower of cumberland sausage, bacon, egg, mushroom and (if I remember right) tomato sandwiched together in a sesame bun. It was an interesting take on your standard fry-up, but you definitely get better breakfasts for less elsewhere in the city.

Can't really say too much more - it was early so there wasn't much "atmosphere" and the staff were not exactly stretched so service wasn't a problem.

This has to be the best burger restaurant in Edinburgh. Fast, child friendly (crayons and splat mat supplied on arrival) service with some outstanding burger combos. I went for the Aussie burger (pineapple, beetroot, mature cheddar and fried egg) with beef. TASTY! My daughter opted for a kids beef burger which came with salad sticks, chips and and a dip. She loved it. The bill is served with peanut MMs and my daughter received a Wannaburger balloon on departure. We will be back!

Best burgers I've ever tasted in Edinburgh. Went back a couple of times and I still absolutely love it. I've got to agree that it's relatively expensive but for the quality you get, I wouldn't complain. *student discount* available!!!
