Zucca Restaurant @ The Lyceum, 15-17 Grindlay Street, EH3 9AX, Edinburgh

We had a £11 for 2 course lunch (now £18 Christmas lunch).

Service was great, helpful and friendly.

Restaurant was nice and really confy, warm atmosphere.

Food was fantastic: really innovative and different. Impressive presentation of the different dishes. Tasted great. Even the bread they bring you at the beginning of the meal was amazingly presented and tasted so good. Definitely great Italian food at an affordable price!

Will come back again and again.

Zucca Restaurant @ The Lyceum, 15-17 Grindlay Street, EH3 9AX, Edinburgh

Came here on Thursday for pre-MacBeth meal for 20 people - an evening I'd organised so I really wanted it to be good.

Zucca was excellent.

Very attentive staff, wonderfully organised and friendly and ensured we were all in and out in 75 minutes having had a lovely meal and our glasses were never empty.

The food? Wonderful. I had the Autumn Salad (beetroot, rocket, walnut, goats cheese) and the trout served with capers and spinach. Both were exceptional. Other starters included Tomato & mozarella salad, soup, wild mushroom. Mains were Lamb Stew, lemon & thyme chicken, Risotto.

Everyone was delighted with the food including the desserts (tiramisu, Italian Meringue, cheesecake)

Nothing on the menu was especially complicated but it was prepared brilliantly. The menu is £16.95 for 2 courses and £19.95 for three courses. House wine £15.95 (red or white).

I really recommend and it ensured the evening was a great success, which was just as well as MacBeth wasn't very good - a BLOND Lady MacBeth - come on... and those witches - jeez!

We ate here on New Year's Eve - it was a great experience!

Both the quality of ingredients & recipes were very good, in fact the starter & main were so good we all had dessert even though we were really full!

We were enjoying it so much we even ordered a second bottle of wine to prolong the experience.

Highly recommended, excellent food & wine, attentive service & great value for money.

What a great little find last weekend.

Good food, wine and service all for under £50 for the 2 of us.

Strongly recommended.

Zucca Restaurant @ The Lyceum, 15-17 Grindlay Street, EH3 9AX, Edinburgh

I've never been to Zucca before but the restaurant was booked for work Christmas lunch. I usually don't bother with reviews but I was so impressed with Zucca that I felt compelled to do a review.

We were a party of 25 and the restaurant already had another party in when we arrived. This was not a problem and we were all seated quickly and menus delivered swiftly. Wine and water, along with the most fantastic homemade bread rolls were on the table within a few minutes... The Christmas menu didn't had turkey on it (thank goodness as I hate restaurants who do all of that, and usually very badly). I ordered the smoked halibut and rocket to start - it was just a delight, followed by the brasato of beef, which is basically beef cooked in red wine and served with potatoes and red cabbage. The meat melted on the tongue, it was just lovely. For dessert, I ordered panna cotta as I have always wanted to try it but never have, and I was not disappointed. In fact, the whole meal was brilliant. The staff were attentive but not overly intrusive, there was never a glass left empty and all in all, a great time had by all. Last year, my collagues eat in the terrible Herbe Bistro, which has since closed, and we waited over an hour just to have our orders taken. Zucca was a delight. I will definitely encourage my colleagues to rebook Zucca for next year but in the meantime, I have already booked a table for 4 next week. Recommended!
