Waw

We were the only customers and we sat outside. The traffic going by is a bit noisy, but only if you sit outside. The food was delicious and interesting and the waiter struck just the right balance of friendliness and helpfulness.

The best thing about this place is that it is open late - till 0300 I think. Also, it is next to Assembly, so if you find a friend wants to go to Assembly, you can agree and then suggest somewhere different just as you arrive!
Good nachos.

I don't really know if the food is good compared to other Japanese restaurants as I haven't been to too many, but it definitely tasty food in general. The best thing about this restaurant though is the toilet! Or rather, the sink - it is a wok and the water comes out of the tap when you lift up the handle of the wok (which is cunningly hinged)

A delightful cafe. One I return to time and time again. The food is fine, not exceptional, the staff are fine, but it is the décor and ambiance that I like. They have such marvelous lights!

L'Amore D'Italia

Happy and helpfull service, the menu could probably be a bit more extensive, prices are reasonable and the food is very tasty. Would recommend the Saturday nights, the main waiter has a sing along then sticks the karaoke on (later when everyone has eaten).

This place could be superb since the food is great and the staff are fine. But the service is sooo slow! If you are not too hungry and don't mind a wait, then go here as it has really good food, but take a book - War and Peace maybe?

Cafe Lucia
Festival Theatre, EH8 9FT, Edinburgh
from jwjlewis (76%) on July 17th, 2007 (1 year ago)
A lovely place to people watch. It has its regulars who can be seen there at the correct time every week. The food is good for this type of establishment and you can refill your coffee cup as many times as you like. The seating could be improved, but as it doubles as a theatre bar, this is perhaps not the easiest thing to accommodate. A good place for a bagel/foccacia and a quiet cup of tea with an old friend.

King's Balti

Perfect for a student birthday bash. They cater for large groups in their back room. I have never been disappointed here, but having never eaten in a small group here I cannot say much about how it suits couples looking for a quiet evening. Saying that, given that there are two rooms, one would presume that couples would be fine here.

A very fun restaurant - you pick your meat, veg and sauce, hand it over to the chef and watch them cook it. Make sure you stick to the suggested recipes though, it is fiendishly difficult to devise your own which will be any good!
