Really great food and C Scott is right - the atmosphere is great and you feel like part of the family. The menu is brilliant and the mixed platters are gorgeous. And the homemade mango ice-cream... mmmnnn :)

Tex Mex II
64 Thistle Street, EH2 1EN, Edinburgh
from Kevin (18%) on February 12th, 2008 (7 months ago)
I agree with Jake, the best Mexican was the Tijuana Yacht Club until it sadly closed. Tex Mex is the next best thing! Very small but large portions, very nice for a romantic meal... according to my other half!

Good service and good food, always stop in and grab a take-away box if I'm going to the cinema. Never had a problem.

Kebab Mahal

Totally excellent. Quality experience, authentic, really nice folk. All of the dishes look great coming out - I regularly have the Chicken Tikka Masala which is drenched in lime, amazing. Mango Lassi also great.

Khushi's
9 Victoria Street, EH1 2HE, Edinburgh
from yeahyeah (26%) on January 29th, 2008 (8 months ago)
Really excellent, I have visited Khushis on Victoria Street many times to sit in and the one on Broughton St for takeaway - excellent service, and the food is second to none. The stuffed fish curry is my favourite.

Le Mouton Noir
3 Viewforth, EH10 4JD, Edinburgh
from Gwen (11%) on January 25th, 2008 (8 months ago)
This is the best restaurant in Edinburgh! I've been twice and on both occasions the food was authentic and top quality. The food is quite rich (typically French) and so you may find you don't need dessert. This would be a shame though as the 3 crème Brulee option is a real treat. Service is top-notch. You're best to book as it's very popular (though the first time I visited they managed to squeeze us in). A good place to impress visitors.

Hula

What a relief to find a juice alternative to the pubs on the Grassmarket. A relaxing, friendly and chilled place to grab a snack, read the paper or just watch people walk by. I really liked the Cajun Chicken wrap and the Ginger Jack juice. Great place to rest my bones after shopping on Victoria Street. I will definitely be back.
