Amazing place at all times of the day, sometimes twice a day, free chips on some orders. You just can't beat a Prima Pizza!

Positano
85 Newington Road, EH9 1QW, Edinburgh
from Michael Cernicchiaro (18%) on May 14th, 2008 (4 months ago)
This friendly restaurant will now be our favourite place to have an Italian meal on the south side of town. A warm welcome and individual attention on arrival made us feel valued. The house wine was excellent and complemented the food chosen from an extensive menu, which was augmented by a good selection of specials for the day. The extensive fish menu left our mouths watering for a further trip! I went for wholesome fish soup as starter which would have sufficed as a meal on its own, followed by a delightful plate of grilled Seabass with a helping of seasonal vegetables. The food was well presented, delicious and piping hot and the dessert menu also lived up to expectations with plenty to choose from. All in all, a memorable experience which we shall be repeating on a regular basis.

La Partenope
96 Dalry Road, EH11 2AX, Edinburgh
from food lover C (18%) on May 14th, 2008 (4 months ago)
All my friends and family love La Partenope restaurant, we love to travel, also we love to eat. This restaurant is excellent, the taste, like we eat in Italy. I had fresh mixed seafood, followed by tiramisu. Tiramisu was very nice and how it should be, not made with sponge cake and cream! The food was excellent and the staff attentive, friendly lovely owner! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone interested in an authentic Italian meal in cozy surroundings.

Suruchi
14a Nicholson Street, EH8 9DH, Edinburgh
from Jonathan Grant (18%) on May 13th, 2008 (4 months ago)
I had been to Suruchi Restaurant on 10 May opposite to Festival theatre. The food was excellent and I really liked it.
The menu is written in Scots and the most interesting part was the fusion of Scottish produce cooked in Indian style, like Venison Maharaja or Salmon Feast. Awesome taste.
Value for money is great as well. I had been there with 5 other friends and the bill came up to £70. It was a Saturday night and the restaurant was bustling. Staff were very friendly. Service was top class.
I will surely recommend this restaurant to every curry lover.

Petit Paris
17 Queensferry Street, EH2 4QW, Edinburgh

from btocher (26%) on May 13th, 2008 (4 months ago)
Petit Paris in Queensferry Street is in a charming setting. There's a wonderful bright, airy ambience. The quality of the food was very high indeed (and the gorgeous cured ham starter was gigantic!). A couple of minor hiccups in service, though - forgetting to bring one of our party of twelve her aperitif, and later, bringing coffee but forgetting to bring milk. However, all things considered, I would definitely go back again, and would recommend it to others.

My favourite restaurant in Edinburgh. Unpretentious French restaurant with friendly french waiters and delicious food. The pre-theatre menu is a great deal!

Le meilleur restaurant Francais d'Edimbourg!
Yes it is the best French restaurant in Edinburgh if not in Scotland!
We went there Saturday night and although being really busy the service was top quality. Nice, efficient and friendly.
We chose the £24 - 3 course - menu (there is another one at £19 or you can order a la carte) and a bottle of wine for £17
I think that £70 for two is fair for such quality food.
The portions are big. For starters we had smoked salmon with salmon mousse and salade mixte with dried meats, a great start. For mains we went for Entrecote sauce Béarnaise and Duck with Apricot-Rhum sauce, fantastic! Meat perfectly cooked too!
For dessert we had Ile Flottante and an amazing Lavender Crème Brulée. Never had that before and was a bit reticent but now I'm looking forward to more!!!
I am French myself and tried most Edinburgh restaurants and that's the only one that made me feel like back home. My partner is English and she truly loved the whole experience too.
Go and try it, honestly, you'll go again and again.
