Went here for Valentines day a couple of years ago and it was a real pack 'em in scenario. Food was ok but service was fairly non-existent to be honest. Possibly harsh to judge it on a crap night to go there but even still they sold their sole fast enough. Queue out the door mind you. I wouldn't go again based on my experience but neither would I urge you not to go.

I have been to this restaurant in the past and had a fine experience so was disappointed when I returned with my mum last night. The garlic bread starter was an embarrassment - 3 scrawny slices of bread thrown onto a huge plate! My mum had spaghetti bolognese which was like a game of find the pasta - odd considering how cheap pasta is! I had calzone which was fine but I've had better out of takeaway sandwich places! Crepes for dessert - clearly out of a packet and the ice cream wasn't that tasty either!

Service was pretty poor, had to ask to see a dessert menu. Felt like there was about 4 different waiters all just throwing stuff on the table then whipping it away!

Very disappointing, won't go back.

I recently went here on a large family get together, there were 12 of us and it was brilliant!

The food was simply outstanding and served surprisingly quickly considering how busy it was. The staff were very friendly and we definitely got great value for money.

Furthermore the decor inside was lovely, a true Italian restaurant with a strong authentic feel.

I went to Ciao Roma for my birthday; there were 21 of us. The food was fine, better than your average Italian, but the service was the worst I have ever experienced.

When the bill came, it was for nearly £1000. When we looked at it more closely, they had charged us for 25 starters and 43 main courses, even though there were only 21 of us. When we pointed this out to the staff, we were told the bill was correct and we would have to pay the full amount. They weren't interested in sorting out the problem, they weren't bothered by the fact they were trying to charge us for meals for far more people than we were. In the end we gave them £600 and left.

I tried to sort it out with them over the next few weeks, but they just weren't interested. I'd never go back.
