Being an Edinburgh local not sure what moment of madness made us end up here but wouldn't recommend it to anyone for food. The service is just about the only good thing going for it though. Food is over priced for what it is - £10 for a burger when you can get better for more than half the price most other places in Edinburgh.

It's OK but pretty expensive and is always busy - don't expect to pay less than £10 for any main courses. As expected portions are generous - well, it is American after all. The spare ribs are huge and very filling. Overall : OK.

Yeah- same old same old! Amazingly mobbed almost all the time at the weekend!

I'm a big fan of the burgers here though - they are very tasty. Also quite nice milkshakes and desserts. Service is fairly prompt and it's entirely likely you can do a shared starter, mains and a dessert with drinks for around £40.

Crap decor though.

Having booked on their on-line priority booking system, we were originally shown to a table near the toilets, but after asking to be moved, we were shown to a booth. It had been about 15 years since two of us had been to Hard Rock, although the other two eat here for special occasions.

We ordered a bottle of rose wine, a beer and a flavoured vodka, as well as glasses of water.

We shared a jumbo combo to start. This included potato skins, chicken wings, chicken tenders, spring rolls, onion rings along with dips and lettuce.

For mains, we all had burgers, three hickory barbecue bacon cheese burgers, one of these we asked for with the heavy metal sauce instead of the barbecue sauce, which was no problem and one SOB. We also ordered a portion of onion rings. The barbecue comes basted with hickory barbecue sauce and topped with caramelised onions, cheddar cheese, smoked bacon, lettuce etc. Can't remember what was on the SOB. The burgers were all nice, as were the chips and onion rings. The starter was more memorable than the burgers.

Service was friendly, the whole place is clean, full of memorabilia, but the tables all seemed to be on top of each other. Not a problem for us in a booth, but we wouldn't fancy being quite so crammed in.

Overall everything was nice enough. Total bill was just over £100! To be honest there are a number of places in Edinburgh where you can get a nicer burger at half the price. I think it will be a while before we venture back.

My 3-year-old daughter dragged me into this restaurant this week. She loved HRC anywhere we travelled, so I thought it's good to have a meal with her here, in a local HRC!

I've been to many HRC all over the world and I have to say this Edinburgh HRC is the most unfriendly one.

I mean, not too bad compared with other restaurants in Edinburgh; they talk to you when they take you to the table.

But once you finish paying, they even stopped smiling at you. Sad, sad, sad. Other HRCs in other countries are super friendly. I wonder Edinburgh HRC receive any trainings from the HQ.

About the food, I ordered HRC burger(medium) this time and my daughter, chicken goujon and chips.

The burger came burnt slightly, so the chefs didn't know what the medium cooked is. My daughter's dish served piping hot, so hot that she couldn't start eating for 10 min. She was so frustrated to wait in front of the served food. If they know it's a kid's menu, they should consider when to serve, I think.

Don't order a platter to share. It is always horrible. You can recognise it was frozen before and it's just not nice. Chicken wings, too spicy to swallow, vegitable not fresh. This applies to any HRC, by the way, not only in Edinburgh.

It is like being in the Hard Rock Cafe - decent enough burger and chips served by friendly albeit Americanised staff. I always think it is a bit pricey as the burgers aren't jaw droppingly good as they should be for £10. But you know what to expect and I do love restaurants with road signs nailed to the walls!

The usual Hard Rock Cafe fair with rock memorabilia on the walls etc. It's pretty cheesy, but if you have a Pig Sandwich craving it's the only place to go!

I've been here before and to others in the chain and the food has generally been pretty good, however i don't think it was anything better than average this time and its very, very busy (we were there at 3 - 4.30pm on a Sunday) which is fine in itself but we had a large table of drunk people shouting and swearing next to us which didn't enhance the experience, especially as we had a toddler with us... the service is very efficient but i think i'll try and avoid it for a year or two

Nice atmosphere, lots to look at and good food and drink, if a little pricey. Can be packed, so be warned.

Yes it's cheesy and yes it's expensive, but wow I had the best burger of my life here, honest! Those caramelised onions were to die for! Service is quite quick and really friendly, cocktails are overpriced but yummy all the same. Would recommend.

The food is OK, the music is a bit crap, certainly not "Hard Rock" and the decor is lame. The cocktails however are very drinkable. All in all it is good but expensive, would go there again but not regularly.

I always enjoy HRC wherever I go and thankfully Edinburgh is no exception. The staff are really friendly and the food is standard HRC food... good sized chunky, tasty, grub! The bar is a little small compared to some other HRCs I've been to, but the restaurant area is quite extensive and service is usually really quick.

Great cocktails, fantastic burgers, the best we've ever had. The place has fantastic decor. Quite pricey but well worth it.
