We went to the Home Bistro on Saturday evening before attending a gig at the Queens Hall (2 mins along the road so ideal for a pre-gig dinner)

It is a lovely little restaurant – about the size of your average living room. It is decorated beautifully and makes you feel right at home.

The waiter (I’m presuming he is the owner) was absolutely fantastic, very attentive but without being pushy – but at the same time very efficient in his service.

They had a set price menu on – I think it was 3 courses for £13.95… something similar anyway! I had a fantastic gorgonzola salad to begin with followed by a chicken and tarragon pie and then white chocolate cheesecake to finish. My parents both opted for the broccoli and spinach soup and fish and chips for main. They assured me it was fab too – the chips were very nice – freshly cut home made ones – I can vouch for them as I stole a few.

For the 3 o us and a nice bottle of wine it came to £55.

I would definitely recommend it!

What an amazing restaurant. Could you want for better food or service? The maitre d' is the friendliest dude around. Go there and love it.

Great little place. They have a great lunch deal. Real nice simple food and very friendly service.

A very friendly little place, with great food. I have lunch there approximately fortnightly, and the occasional pre-theatre dinner. The menu could do with changing more frequently (and the pre-theatre menu seems identical other than in price to the lunch one) but that is only likely to irritate the frequent visitor.

The friendly chap who runs it (and indeed is usually the only visible member of staff apart from occasional sightings of the chef) provides excellent efficient service and is part of the charm of the place.

Highly recommended!

I used to work in the area of George Square and this little restaurant was home from home. Wonderful, freshly prepared food, in a warm, cosy environment. Waiter, who is co-owner with the chef, is friendly and very good at helping the undecided customer to make a choice that will be just perfect.

Desserts there are a must have and I would recommend the white chocolate cheesecake to anyone.
