I reckon Ignite is a good safe bet for a decent curry if you are in or around Haymarket. The staff were helpful and very efficient - I dined there with a group of around 12 and all our food was brought out together and in good time. For my main course I had Madrasi Sag Gust, which is a lamb curry with spinach - nice and tasty.

It is 1750 on a Friday afternoon and I am still digesting the lunch I had today at Ignite!

I went here today with four colleagues and we dined in style. There is a set lunch menu to facilitate speed dining. You can choose from four or five starters (pakoras, samosas etc...) and then either chicken, lamb or veg in a sauce (from a choice of five).

We all elected for different dishes. I had vegetable samosa for starter and then chicken tikka massalam for my main. I have to say that both were very tasty and they came very quickly. My colleagues also seemed very taken with their choices.

The decor of the place is very modern, but lovely with it - no stark white walls it, it's all rustic reds! There's not much more to say really, other than that I believe my colleagues have been regularly dining here for Friday lunch for quite a while now and must like it or they wouldn't keep going back.

Would I recommend it? Yes I would - for a business or casual lunch and probably for dinner too. However, given that it is in Haymarket, it is probably not going to get the right clientele to make it a hot-date option!

One of the many Indian restaurants in the west end of town and one of the ones I would recommend.

For a start surroundings are pleasant, with a comfortable contemporary feel to the restaurant. Service has been mixed on my visits, during quiet weekdays it is fine, on a busy weekend it can be slow, obviously to be expected on a busier day but at times it has proven to be frustratingly so.

Starters, well to be honest I am normally just a mixed Pakora man when I am out for an Indian, every visit here has been the same, and it is good pakora, but really how do you go wrong with Pakora.

Mains, well over the course of my visits I have tried many, Pathia, Jhalfreizi, Ceylon, all have been good, tasty, not too overpowering in spices, chilli or salt, the veg in the sauce is always nicely cooked, not the overcooked floppy stuff that can often accompany your meat. All the usual trimmings to your usual Indian are done well if not mind blowingly, rice, breads, dahl.

Downsides? I dont find the price particularly easy on the wallet, looking through the menu there is nothing sticks out as being immediately horrendous but once some popadoms, starter, main and a couple of beers are thrown into the mix it always ends up the wrong side of where you would expect it to be, and where other places in town would be in the final bill. Foodwise, no faults, a good solid choice.

Food is always really tasty, the staff are friendly and helpful, the restaurant is always busy. My family and I go here often for birthdays etc.
