Have been having lunch here for a few months now and have found the food to be really tasty and well presented. The decor is 1st class and the staff are really friendly and helpful.

I went here with my friend and it was very good the staff were pleasant and helpful the food was very nice and the drinks weren't too pricey. I don't know what the last review was about but some people just want a moan.

Oscars Bar and Grill, 1-2 Moat Place, EH14 1NY, Edinburgh

Very good food with good attentive service, though bar often busy. Nice decor, with mainly comfortable seating and quite a find so far outside of City. Still charging City prices for food and drink though. Good choice of beers and spirits.

Slightly cramped feel when busy and pouffee seats looked silly and uncomfortable.

Late lunchtime meals at weekends slightly marred by the dominance of a large TV screen and people who have come in only to drink and watch the football game of the day.

Odd mixture of customers at those times when big games are on between some those who are looking for a nice meal, a few drinks and a chat and a more loud and occasionally mainly male core in front of the TV.

This place is a hidden gem. I have been for lunch dinner and breakfast. Every time it has been superb!

They have a quiz every Monday night and it's really popular and fun - not won yet though!

Highly recommend Oscars to anyone who likes fantastic food, good service and value for money. If you go you'll probably see me there!

I live opposite and been going there since opened and find the staff very good and interact well. Never been to a bar where staff interact and have a laugh as much. Food also good. Been for many meals with better half and enjoyed more than up town. Highly recommend.

Worse restaurant experience ever! Staff were argumentative and hostile on our first visit – talked to like a piece of dirt. We then received a voucher from the manager who seemed to be sympathetic to our experience. However, when we sought to use the voucher we were met with a series of terms and conditions not made clear on the voucher itself, and again another argument with staff members. We were made to feel lucky to receive a voucher at all – completely embarrassing and not the way to retain your local customers.

Then made the mistake of complaining a second time formally in writing – imagine the audacity! Received response from the manager of the premises claiming it was all my fault, I was the one being hostile to such an extent that he wanted to remove me from the restaurant, and threatening to come over to my place of work to talk about the matter in person! Unbelievable.

Don’t usually complain/write reviews like this but I couldn’t let it go without pursuing all avenues to let people know to definitely avoid this "restaurant".
