Lovely food, reasonably priced from what I can remember and very friendly staff. So friendly in fact that when we left they gave us each a bottle of Stella to take home with us. So I would say this is a go out of your way kind of restaurant, even just for the service.

I visited this place with my wife and a colleague recently after reading a recommendation in The Independent, who rated it as one of the best Indian restaurants in the UK. Quite an accolade.

We visited at about 7pm, and we were the only diners there initially. I can't think why, because the food was absolutely superb, and quite different to other Indian restaurants that I've frequented.

My colleague had a fish dish (I forget which one), but what I do remember was that I wanted it all to myself, rather than the nibble I got!

My wife doesn't like her food too spicy, so she had a more traditional Korma, which was delightful - the chicken was succulent and tasty, and the sauce was spot-on.

I'm partial to a Madras, but I was tempted by another chicken dish on the menu (again, I'm afraid I don't remember what it was - wish I could), which was so flavoursome... thinking about it now has my taste buds going crazy!

The waiting staff were very friendly, and they served draught Cobra.

I'd recommend a visit to Saffrani without a moments hesitation. I urge you to go... now.

They do the most amazing butter chicken, and fabulous tasting mushrooms stuffed with goats cheese. Small but friendly and the service is prompt and not intrusive. You have got to try this place.
