The Westroom, 3 Melville Place, EH3 7PR, Edinburgh

I went here at the weekend for lunch and have a great time. I had been previously on a week night for drinks and had a very good experience. We went on a Saturday (rugby international weekend) for lunch and were able to get a table without a problem. The menu is very varied with mains ranging from £6-9 - I had smoked haddock on a bed of potatoes, hollandaise sauce and a soft poached egg and my friend had a pork and chili burger with chips. Both meals were very good - I particularly enjoyed my fish although the portions were slightly on the small side which would be my only complaint. We ended up sharing a pudding and had the sticky toffee pudding with banana ice cream which was absolutely brilliant! So almost worth having a small main as means you have room for a pudding.

The prices arent too bad either - we had 3 pints, a glass of lime and soda, 2 mains and a pudding and the bill came to £29.

The decor of this place is great as well - it has such a clean and summery feel I think it is a great addition to the west end be for a few drinks or for lunch/dinner
